December 19th, 2006

Selectmen Meeting Minutes
December 18th, 2006

Present:  M. Genest, R. Haggett, and B. Pratt
Also in attendance: W. Prokop, A. Johnson, T. Feyrer

The selectmen opened the meeting at 7:00 P.M.

The selectmen approved the minutes of the December 11th meeting.

A. Johnson from Southwest Region Planning Commission presented to the selectmen the update “Town of Antrim Emergency Operations Plan” that was finalized by the Town’s committee and SWRPC. The selectmen voted to approve and sign the Statement of Acceptance which will be forwarded to NH Bureau of Emergency Management for review and approval by them and FEMA. A copy of the plan will be maintained by R. Bethel, the Emergency Management Director. A. Johnson expressed his thanks to the committee for their hard work and to the Board of Selectmen for following through on the process. The Board expressed their sincere thanks to A. Johnson and SWRPC for their help. The board is looking forward to getting the formal approvals from the state and FEMA.

T. Feyrer discussed his budget proposals and adjustments with the board. He is requesting an increase in staffing during 2007. This he pointed out is in line with the plan that was previously presented to the selectmen and the Master Plan committee by Chief Brown in 2003 when he held the chief's position in Antrim. The selectmen discussed this at length and felt that they would be willing to bring this request to the budget hearing and let the people decide if the want the additional coverage. The proposal will have minimal impact on the 2007 budget, under $8,000, but would have a full impact on the 2008 budget.

The selectmen reviewed general correspondence and approved payroll and A/P for the week.

Meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for 01/08/07 at 7:00 P.M. The selectmen will be attending the Park and Recreation Commission meeting on Thursday, December 21st, 2006 at 7:15 p.m. at the Town Hall.
